A vignette...

Inspired by my new favourite book, last night I decided to attempt a little vignette using some new and old items from around my home. I filled the birdcage with as many white items I could fit - mostly figurines, a candle, shell and you're probably wondering why I have an "&" (and) symbol in there, I would prefer to put the letter "A" but I don't have one as yet :)

I love this old chippy table. It stands in my hallway so this is what people see when they walk in.
Let me know what you think. Did I get it completely wrong or have I passed? lol

(apologies for my poor photography skills lol)

p.s For a really fabulous post about The New French Decor book and lots of scanned pictures, check out Paris Hotel Boutique :)

  1. This is one of my favourite, favourite books and a great source of inspiration for me. I am forever making compositions and re-arrange my mad collections all the time. I am constantly amazed at how many different looks can be created with the same objects - it just takes time and masses of imagination. I love your vignette - especially the birdcage.

  4. Hey there! I linked back to a post of yours today. Unfortunately, for the first 1,000 people that read the post today my LINK DIDN'T WORK! Eeek. That is what I get for doing too many things at once. I fixed it now, sorry I blew it.

  6. Pass! If this were my hallway table, I'd tuck a green-covered book in with the others; or add a pink flower to the tiny blue vase - or to the inside of the brass candle holder...

  10. Lovely Anna! I would send you a small posy of champagne coloured David Austin roses if I could. I think I see a corner of your gorgeous table to put them!
